Prepaid Legal Service not free

There are enough problems a homeowner faces today that can force them to seek legal help or advice. Currently there is a debate regarding the new health care proposal. However, declining health continue to be just one of the many reasons why some homeowners find themselves in foreclosure. One research found that 71% of us will be required to defend ourselves in the court of law with in the next 12 months. Question, how can a person with limited capital or financial resources defend themselves?

In this article I am really only referring to real estate law, from buying a home to defending yourself in foreclosure. So much is possible if you are willing to do a little research on the web regarding your legal problem. I will include the top web search under “free legal help” starting there might be a good place for those with limited resources.

The first one is: http://real-estate-law.freeadvice.com/real-estate-law/
These sites have several good places to get information if your are fighting foreclosure. I like the community board you can join and ask individual questions or just read those already asked and the answer. They do have attorney referrals that might have a free initial consultation. What really is interesting is their “post a case to five attorneys” section to get an answer.

The next is : http://www.findlegalhelp.org.
Pro Bono programs match low-income clients with volunteer lawyers, who agree to take their cases for free. Legal Aid as been around for long time and have helped a lot of people.

http://www.lawhelp.org/
LawHelp helps low and moderate income people find free legal aid programs in their communities, and answers to questions about their legal rights.

This does not look like all free legal help but it does have a lot of information that could be a place to start.

Pre-Paid Legal services and opportunities in the company
For today I will close with the company who offers legal help and advise 24 hours a day with a subscription fee of $20 -35.95 per month. Pre-paid legal has been around for over 35 years and is a leader in the pre-paid legal plans.

This service can be purchased individually as a family legal plans. However, the most popular way this legal product is sold is through an employees benefit plan, or as a group legal plan. If you purchase it through a payroll deduction and as a member you receive free telephone legal advice plus fee discounts from a participating lawyer for other services. Additionally you get free review of simple legal documents, preparation of a simple will, and short letters written or phone calls made by a lawyer.

legal plans like this takes the fear out of selecting an attorney and worrying about the cost. The fact is most of the questions or legal problems a person will have could be resolved with just a telephone call. In fact the research as shown that sixty five to eighty five percent of all problems brought to most attorneys were resolved with just needed advice and follow up by the attorney. Most importantly is the peace of mind one has when they have such access to the right attorney who is practicing in the field in which they have a problem.
